Brittany Khadija is a content creator, soon-to-be author, and public health professional. She was born in Upstate New York to immigrant parents from the Caribbean island of Grenada and spent her childhood between Upstate New York, Brooklyn, New York, and Grenada. In 2016, she obtained a Bachelor's in Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Public Health. In 2019, she received a Master's in Public Health with a concentration in Social Behavior and Community Health. She loves learning about different cultures, watching world news or documentaries, traveling, and making videos and podcast episodes in her free time.
In 2022, Brittany Khadija took her shahada and became Muslim. Before taking her shahada, she spent many years learning about Islam. In the months before her shahada, she realized the lack of Muslim representation on social media regarding the West Indian (Caribbean) community and a lack of Black revert (convert) content. She decided to end her previous YouTube channel called "Brittany Michelle Amour" to create a new one, "Brittany Khadija," dedicated to her revert journey, eventually leading to her making a podcast called "The Melanated Muslimah." She previously had a podcast with one of her best friends about growing up in the United States with immigrant parents called "1st Generation Podcast."
Brittany Khadija's journey led to her writing a memoir dedicated to her religious journey and becoming Muslim, The Call: A Grenadian American's Journey to Islam. The book's release is planned for late early 2025. She hopes that her story inspires people who are thinking about Islam to learn more, inspires those searching for religion to explore what their heart desires, and brings awareness to the rich Muslim history in the Caribbean.
