Social Media Content
Podcast
A few months after my shahada, I created a podcast called "The Melanated Muslimah." I made this podcast because I noticed there was a lack of West Indian (Caribbean) Muslim representation on social media, and there was a lack of Black revert content. I wanted to share my journey and show others what new Muslims go through, how I fell in love with Islam and everyday life, and how Islam is helping me get through it, and I wanted to show the Islamic knowledge I learned along the way. Podcasting isn't new to Brittany Khadija. She had a previous podcast with one of her friends sharing their journey of being born to immigrant parents. You can find my podcast on SoundCloud, Apple Podcast, and Spotify.
YouTube
The idea behind Brittany Khadija's YouTube channel is the same as her podcast. The difference between the podcast and the YouTube channel is that she wanted visual images to accompany her story. She also wants to include vlogs and showcase Islamic history in the Caribbean. She previously had a YouTube channel before her shahada. She deleted it to focus on this channel and her Islamic journey. You can find her YouTube channel here.
Other Social Media
Brittany Khadija uses other social media platforms to share her journey and showcase her creativity. She uses Instagram to share Islamic content and showcase images of her journey, which is different from her personal Instagram. TikTok is another platform where she shares her journey, gets creative, and shares Islamic content. Facebook is a platform she uses to share her other content. You can find the links to all Brittany Khadija's content here.
